The Artist

The Artist Today
Hello, I’m Kelly.
I’ve been making things for as long as I can remember.
I grew up in Alexandria, Indiana and later in Anderson, where creativity was simply part of everyday life. My great-grandmother helped raise me, and she was a remarkable quilter who sold the quilts she made by hand. Sitting beside her, I learned to sew before I was five years old. I can still remember tying tiny French knots and watching colorful scraps slowly turn into something beautiful.
Early Creativity

That early experience shaped the way I see the world - how ordinary materials become meaningful when someone takes the time to create with care. Creating, for me, has always begun with patience and curiosity.

Where It Began
|
As I grew older, creativity kept unfolding in new ways. I loved drawing and coloring as a child. Later came journals filled with writing and poetry. In high school I fell in love with music theory and spent hours learning instruments, writing lyrics, and exploring how sound and story could intertwine. Each chapter simply added another thread to the same creative story.

Growing Into My Own

All of my education has taken place here in Indiana, and today I live in Brownsburg. College was an important chapter in that journey. Studying mathematics and philosophy stretch me in new ways, inviting me to think deeply about the world and my place in it. It was there that I discovered something important: I was far more capable than I had ever been led to believe. Completing two demanding majors taught me to trust my own voice, embrace curiosity, and continue asking questions about the world around me. While the mediums I work with have changed over the years, the impulse behind them has stayed the same: curiosity. |
Motherhood & Community
| Becoming a mother also shaped my life in profound ways. As a young single mother, I quickly learned the importance of caring for the people around us and building supportive communities. That sense of responsibility and compassion became central to how I see the world. I’m proud to say my son carried those same values with him growing up. He was known for standing up for the underdogs at school, especially classmates who felt overlooked or different. Today he continues to serve others through his work in the military, and watching him live those values reminds me how powerful kindness and advocacy can be. | ![]() |
Partnership & Perspective

Life has also taught me that many of the stories people carry are quiet and unseen. When my partner began sharing more openly about who they truly are, it opened my eyes to the courage people bring to simply being themselves. That experience, along with personal experiences within the queer community, has deepened my compassion and reminded me how important it is to create spaces where people feel welcomed exactly as they are. |
Seeing the World Differently
I also live and create as a neurodivergent person. Over the years I’ve learned that sensitivity, curiosity, and seeing the world a little differently can be powerful creative strengths. Those experiences have shaped the way I approach art, encouraging me to create things that offer comfort, joy, and small moments of brightness.
The Next Generation of Wonder
| My grandson has also played a beautiful role in that journey. Watching him explore the world with wide-eyed curiosity has reopened parts of my own imagination and continues to inspire the playful spirit behind many of my creations. Even thinking about the memories we’ve shared together can brighten an ordinary moment. | ![]() |
Kreated by Kelly
Kreated by Kelly is where all of those creative threads come together: drawing, color, storytelling, curiosity, compassion, and the joy of making something with your hands.
Many pieces are handmade in my studio in Brownsburg. Others begin as my original artwork and designs and are brought to life with the help of trusted production partners.
You may also occasionally find carefully chosen items that I’ve curated for the shop - things like craft supplies, idea kits, trinket dishes, or small creative tools. These are pieces I genuinely enjoy using myself, selected because they spark imagination and make the creative process a little more joyful.
The goal is simple: to create a shop that feels like stepping into a small world filled with happy, whimsical things.
Because sometimes a little sparkle, a playful object, or a moment of creativity is exactly what we need to brighten an ordinary day.
I hope when you explore the shop you find something that reminds you of your own inner sparkle.
With so much love and gratitude, thank you, truly, for being here.
